Wood slats connected by a leather strap, with a wood handle at each end.  The Japanese kokoriko, this instrument creates the sound effect of “dominoes falling” as the wooden slats strike one another. Hold a handle in each hand, using an up and down movement with alternating hands to make a clacking sound. The kokoriko produces a crisp, tight sound which can create an interesting variety of rhythmic effects. An interesting instrument for any player, from the professional percussionist to the classroom to the home enthusiast.
